If you loved this, read this | Popular Romance Edition

We've been celebrating all things romance this past week at Fablefern, and what better way to do that than to suggest some lesser known romances we think you'll love. These match ups take a well-known, popular romance book and pairs it with a romance that has similar themes and characters, but might not have the same notoriety.

If you loved Done & Dusted (Rebel Blue Ranch series) read... The Beck Sisters series by Trish Doller.

The Beck Sisters series includes three books all focusing on the themes of finding home, getting over loss, and rediscovering who you are. Similar to the Rebel Blue women, the main characters are bold women with hopes and dreams that they aren't willing to sacrifice for anything. But even though they aren't necessarily looking for love, relationships and romantic tension seem to find them.

If you loved Delilah Green Doesn't Care (Bright Falls series), read... Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous by Mae Marvel.

Mae Marvel brings the fun with Everyone I Kissing Since You Got Famous. This sapphic romance is a great option for lovers of the Bright Falls series. Set in a small town, childhood relationships are reignited just as the characters are gaining steam in their entertainment-based careers.

If you loved A Touch of Darkness (Hades x Persephone Saga), read... Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe.

There are some obvious reasons why these books would be paired together - they follow the exact same characters, for one. A Touch of Darkness explores the romance between Hades and Persephone while Lore Olympus adds to that romance through the absolute beauty of gods and goddess through art. We have been in love with Smythe's art since the very beginning and although there are definitely some tough topics explored in this graphic novel series, it's so much fun to fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with each other.

If you loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, read... Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton.

Next Year in Havana is another glamour read just like the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Set in two different times, the story follows a female main character whose life is a mix of sophistication and fear. This historical romance offers a glimpse into worlds that everyday people could never truly imagine and leaves readers feeling heartsick for these relationships to find the way through hardship.

If you loved, Every Summer After, read... Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

I KNOW. This one feels like a stretch but I promise, the connections are there! Both of these reads explore some very fun themes. They both star bold and spirited female main characters who are creative and smart. They both involve childhood romances that have the potential to grow into lifelong relationships. They're both set in small towns in rural Canada. And they're both written by staples of Canadian literature! Although Carley Fortune is a much newer face on the Canadian book scene, we think that she's becoming a shoe in for one of the best romance novelists in Canada!

If you loved The Selection (The Selection Series), read... Flowerheart by Catherine Bakewell.

In both these novels, our female protagonists must face tough decisions that will change their futures. With gentle romances, both books explore what it means to have the ability to use one's power and influence in the face of conflict. They're both set against the backdrop of royalty, and the main characters must watch their steps as they navigate their worlds to change the lives of those that they love.

If you loved A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR), read... The Storms we Inherit by Rachael Leigh.

It's no secret that A Court of Thorns and Roses is one of the most popular romantasy series out there. And nowadays it's HARD to find something that will stack up with the expectations of ACOTAR lovers. But The Storms We Inherit does not disappoint. Just like ACOTAR, this romantasy explores hidden/treacherous worlds with a high-stakes adventure to ensure the safety of their loved ones. And the secrets that are unveiled will have your jaw on the floor.
