What We Accept

We accept books that are in very good to excellent condition (no rips, stains, smells, writing, or other visible damage). The books we accept can vary based on inventory needs, and we update this page if there are things we need to pause accepting. We're always happy to answer questions and review what you have!

We accept both paperback and hardcover books of all age ranges and most genres.

What We Don't Accept

  • Mass market paperbacks/pocket paperback books 
  • Textbooks
  • Cookbooks
  • Encyclopedias and dictionaries
  • Ex-library books (with library stamps or labels)
  • Hardcovers that are missing dust jackets
  • Books in poor condition (rips, tears, excessive markings, odours, water damage)

How It Works

  • Send us a message (via email or social media) with the book details
    • If you only have a few books, please send clear photos and we can confirm credit via direct message/email
    • If you have a large volume (15+), please let us know and we can arrange a time for you to drop off your books for us to review
  • We’ll review your books and confirm which we will accept for inventory. We reserve the right to decline any books that don’t fit our inventory needs.
  • When we’re done reviewing your books, you will get an email confirming how much store credit you’ve been issued. 
  • Now you get to shop! When you’re ready to make a purchase, log in to your account, open the “Rewards” button in the bottom right of the website. Here you will see your available rewards points. When you click on your rewards, a coupon code will be generated to be used at checkout.

  • From time to time, we may close for book drop offs or adjust the criteria for what we will accept. When this happens, we’ll post to the websites and our social media accounts about pausing and reopening the program.

Store credit can be redeemed toward the purchase of any of our secondhand books. Bookish accessories (bookmarks, stickers, stationery), and specialty bookish items (book boxes, blind date with a book, and advent calendars) are not eligible for purchase with store credit.
